Two passenger terminals are currently in operation at Frankfurt Airport, and the right one matters for your pickup. Terminal 2 has been closed since 9 June 2026. Older bookings or saved notes may therefore point to a terminal you will not use. This guide covers what to check before you fly, where to go after landing and what helps your chauffeur find you.
Check your terminal before you travel
Use Frankfurt Airport’s arrivals search and airline directory with your flight number and travel date. The airline directory shows which terminal your airline currently uses. The flight information and signs on the day confirm where you actually arrive.
Keep these details together and readable without an internet connection:
- Your flight number and arrival date.
- The agreed pickup time and terminal.
- The exact meeting point, including the area or level if specified.
- The contact number supplied for the pickup.
- Any agreed terminal welcome or name sign.
If somebody else booked the journey for you, ask them to forward the complete pickup details.
Pickup at Terminal 1
According to Frankfurt Airport’s airport map, Terminal 1 serves Gates A, B, C and Z and connects directly to the long-distance and regional train stations. A gate letter alone is not a meeting point. Use the area, level and landmark in your pickup details and the Terminal 1 map to get there.
One public landmark is the InfoGate in Arrival B, next to the Meeting Point, in Terminal 1, Area B, Level 1. It connects you with airport service staff by video call. It helps with orientation but does not determine where your chauffeur waits. The meeting point agreed for your ride is what counts, so call before changing it yourself.
Pickup at Terminal 3
Terminal 3, with Gates G, H and J, is in operation, and all airlines that previously used Terminal 2 have moved there. The Terminal 3 map shows your position and the way to your agreed meeting point.
The free SkyLine train connects Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. According to Frankfurt Airport, it runs from 4:00 to 23:00 every two to three minutes, with a shuttle bus outside those hours. You only need it if your agreed meeting point is in the other terminal.
A taxi rank, an app’s collection zone or a general drop-off sign is not a substitute for the meeting point agreed for your ride. If you are unsure, call before walking to another area.
Still looking for a Terminal 2 pickup?
Terminal 2 is closed to passengers. According to Fraport, passenger operations stopped on 9 June 2026 for refurbishment, and the terminal is planned to reopen in the mid-2030s. The airlines formerly based there now use Terminal 3.
If an old itinerary or saved note still says Terminal 2, check your flight again and confirm the pickup details with FRALIMO before you travel.
Frankfurt Airport or Frankfurt-Hahn?
Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN) is a separate airport, not a terminal of Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Hahn Airport’s directions from Frankfurt follow the A66, A643, A60 and A61 motorways to the Rheinböllen exit. Check the airport code on your ticket before you share your pickup details. FRALIMO primarily serves Frankfurt, Frankfurt Airport and the Rhine-Main region. Longer journeys are reviewed according to route and availability.
After landing, describe where you are
Follow the airport signs through arrival, collect any checked luggage and then use your meeting instructions. Let the pickup contact know if you are still waiting for bags or have reached a different area from the one agreed.
When you call, describe what you can see. The terminal, area, level or a nearby sign helps more than saying you are “outside”. A short message can look like this:
“I am in Terminal [number], by [the sign or place in front of me]. My luggage is [collected / still arriving]. Our agreed meeting point is [location].”
If you cannot find your chauffeur, call FRALIMO using the contact arranged before the ride and agree where to meet before moving again.
Delays, luggage problems and changes
If a checked bag does not arrive or is damaged, follow your airline’s reporting process and tell the pickup contact that you may be delayed. According to Frankfurt Airport’s luggage information, only your airline’s baggage tracing department is responsible for checked baggage. The airport’s Lost and Found office cannot help with lost checked luggage.
Active flight monitoring is available on request when a flight number is provided. In that case, FRALIMO checks published flight information and adjusts the pickup for delays, early arrivals or terminal changes where operational availability permits. Supplying a flight number alone does not make monitoring automatic.
Fifteen minutes of waiting time from the agreed pickup time are included. Contact FRALIMO as early as possible if a later meeting becomes likely, and keep any new time or meeting point clear with the pickup contact.
Arrange the welcome that suits your arrival
FRALIMO agrees the meeting point and pickup procedure with you personally before the journey. Terminal meet-and-greet and a name sign are available on request, and luggage assistance is included.
To plan your ride, request your Frankfurt Airport transfer with your flight details, destination, passengers, luggage and preferred welcome. The journey becomes binding once FRALIMO confirms it. Prices by route and vehicle class are on our prices page.
